Jason Mickalauskas began his career as a dog trainer at the North Shore Animal League in the pet behavior department. After 1 year as a regular dog trainer, he was promoted to head dog trainer with responsibilities including evaluating, training and working with dogs as well as supervising 3-5 other dog trainers. This position gave him the opportunity to work with literally thousands of shelter dogs to help improve their adoptability, as well as educating hundreds of new pet owners to help make their relationship with their pets much greater.		  
  With the total of 16 years of experience in dog training, Mr. Mickalauskas is a fully qualified dog trainer and behavior consult. He is able to develop a rapport quite easily with pet owners, enabling him to educate them about their dog's behavior and any changes that need to be made.  
  Mr. Mickalauskas' method of working with the dogs themselves are humane, consistent and fun to practice. He is confident that any client of his has been happy with the training results, customer service, prompt appointments and over all experience of working with him. He plans to continue along these lines, teaching dogs to put their Best Paw Forward!  
     
 

 
     
 

Canine Good Citizen® (CGC™) Exam
Started in 1989, CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. There are not many New York dog trainers approved to administer the exam, however, I am.

Our additional staff of professional dog trainers have also completed extensive training under Mr. Mickalauskas. This includes reading, studying, apprenticing, attending client's lessons, seminars and much hands-on training. Experience is a key factor. With numerous graduates to be proud of, all of our trainers have the experience necessary to address your dog's problems.

In addition to our training skills and experience, there is another important aspect. Clients, animals, and their families are always treated with respect and professionalism. Phone calls are handled in a courteous, informative manner with no high pressure sales techniques. When a message is left for us, calls are returned promptly. Clients are always encouraged to phone in between lessons if they have questions, and we take pride in being on time for appointments.

We are dog trainers because we truly care about dogs and people. By preventing or alleviating behavior problems, more people are able to keep and enjoy their pets. Less animals end up being passed from home to home, winding up in shelters, or even worse. In addition to training, we educate our clients on the importance of spay/neutering, keeping up with vaccines, licensing, & more. Our clients are encouraged to adopt their pets from shelters or rescue groups. Those considering a breeder are educated on what to look for in a reputable breeder. There is always a 10% discount for training any dog that has been rescued.
